The Farm
The farms primary location is situated on a little more than 16 acres in Zeeland Township. The Main farm includes a few acres of ground where some of our hay is grown, and enough pasture to feed our flock throughout the growing season. This farm also has numerous barns and sheds for hay storage, equipment storage, and housing for the sheep, and the various cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, cats, and Paco the Border Collie who all call Twin Maple Farms home. We have also moved in two corn cribs where we store the ear corn that we pick for our livestock.
The farm also operates on each of the two son‘s nearby properties. Jason owns 14 acres, which includes about a 5 acre field where hay is grown. Plans are also underway to fence in part of the 18 plus acres that Ryan owns. This will allow us to pasture more animals and potentially expand our ewe flock.
A neighboring barn has also been rented for equipment and hay storage, along with about 8 acres that we use for hay and corn production. This allows us to raise extra hay to sell, as well as to raise all of the corn we need to finish our animals for market.
